Bomb Man’s Hyper Bomb accessory is missing in action in keychain form. Cut Man’s blades are understandably permanently attached to the figure instead of being featured as a loose accessory. The keychains are near exact replicas of the larger 3’’ mini figures, and can be used as either keychains or zipper pulls. The simplicity behind Yellow Devil’s design is sleek, proving that sometimes less is more. From the flames of Fire Man’s torch, to the detachable scissors that can be used as a held weapon on Cut Man, to Bomb Man’s lit fuse on his projectile, these designs will make Mega Man fans grin ear to ear. Listen, a big reason people are drawn to Mega Man in the first place is the crazy bosses waiting at the end of each stage, and Kidrobot mostly nails the designs of each baddie perfectly. The real winners in the line are obviously the Robot Masters. Those who take offense to it will be pleased to know that it’s nowhere to be found on the tiny 3’’ mini figures of Mega Man and his colorway variations, which include the iconic red and white ensemble, the Hyper Bomb green and white get-up (sans bomb, though we used an extra bomb in our photos, because nerds), and a helmetless chase figure with his flying locks of hair whipping in the wind.

A lot of people have a love/hate relationship with the smirky grin on the 7’’ Mega Man’s face. These guys stand clear above the mini figures, well over twice in size. Mega Man’s cheeky smile is a bit off-putting, but Proto Man-complete with his shield as a stand-alone accessory and his cape molded into the design-is the clear-cut winner. These two giant collectibles are similar enough to their SDCC counterparts, especially Mega Man. The big figures are high in quality, with great, precise paint jobs that you’ve come to expect from Kidrobot, who has been doing this sort of thing for over a decade now. The 7’’ figures this time around are the very basic blue, original style of Mega Man, and the only character in the entire capsule that is not centered on the first game in the series: Proto Man. Light, and even the most notorious of the Wily stage bosses, Yellow Devil.
